Dear Friends:
I hope this letter finds you well. If I haven’t talked to you recently, a little update on me is required. On August 2015, I escaped a domestic abuse situation. Due to the control, I was left penniless and found myself in trauma and homeless for a year with no safe place to live.
Unfortunately, I found out this is situation is quite common. Sixty five percent of homeless women left an abuser. My story proves it can happen to anyone.
I have started a non-profit called Sophie’s Dream based on a system of healing trauma and PTSD developed through my painful journey from surviving to thriving. The program's end result is to fully restore someone physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and financially. By developing their confidence and believing they have value, they reveal their gifts and passions and ultimately can live out their purpose and thrive.
On October 7, 2017, Sophie’s Dream will be holding it’s first fundraiser. A Wine and Cheese-Tasting Art Experience Event held at Lavender Markets and Workshops Conservatory, 89 Olive Avenue, Sierra Madre, CA. It will include a silent art auction, music and dance entertainment.
I’m kindly requesting that you thoughtfully consider donating a painting, sketch, sculpture, or art piece that you have so wonderfully created with your amazing talent so I can help those who have experienced a similar situation like mine.
Thanks so much in advance for your consideration of a donation. I have included a response form below for use in providing us with information about your donation. If you are interested in an artist booth at the event, please contact me at [email protected] or phone me at 818-399-6270. We are an official California Non-Profit Corporation and are currently in the process of receiving 501c3 tax exempt status.
I am grateful for any help you can give!
Thank you!
All the best,
Sonserae Leese
